The branch meeting held in Auckland held on 3 July began with remembering our colleague Ken Smith who had died since the previous meeting.  Ken was a stalwart of the party and had been active for many years, especially at election times.  He will be sorely missed.

The team reviewed an updated policy document created by Bryan Mockridge, focusing on our proposed policy platform for the local body elections this year.

A range of draft leaflets for use up to and during the campaign were also reviewed and accepted and draft dates were agreed for proposed public meeting dates in September, to enable us to get our policies across to the electors.

The meeting agreed:

We would issue a press release as soon as we had confirmed our first 4 candidates for Auckland Council seats.

Although we have four candidates already, we would be interested to hear from any other member who would be willing to put their name forward for Council or other local boards as UnitedFuture candidates.  Young or old, female or male, we want to hear from you!
