Better Medicines for Kiwis

A public consultation document for a long term medicines strategy relating to quality pharmaceutical usage in the health sector including the role of PHARMAC was released in December 2006. This strategy will mean better medicines for all New Zealanders with a focus on access to medicines and optimal use of medicines

United Future fought for the medicines strategy as part of the 2005 Confidence and Supply Agreement because we want to see reliable access to high-quality medicines for New Zealanders now and into the future. New Zealanders deserve to know that medicines they take are just as good as those that any other country can access.
