Business as usual despite de-registration!
4 June 2013
Last week UnitedFuture's party registration was cancelled by the Electoral Commission, at the written request of the party.
For the past couple of months UnitedFuture has been actively seeking party membership renewals and new members to not only maintain the minimum number required by law but also to seek more members to be active in national politics ahead of a 2014 General Election.
"The process for keeping memberships up to date is an arduous one in order to meet the EC requirements", said Robin Gunston, Party President. "Our small volunteer workforce has to seek out people's changes in addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers etc, as well as find out if people have moved overseas or perhaps even died!"
"People don't tend to let you know of these changes when they happen", said Keith Mockett, Membership Secretary, "so its a bit of a detective game which can sometimes be very difficult, as we have found in the last 3-4 months."
UnitedFuture will be actively seeking re-registration as soon as possible and want to do that with a considerable number of members above the minimum number.
New members or those renewing membership can do so at www.unitedfuture.co.nz
