At a recent candidate forum, in the final wind-up comments Green M.P. Meteria Turei made an interesting plea ... she asked people to do 2 things
1) to party vote Green
2) to tell others how they were voting

It was her second request that got me thinking. In NZ we have always been coy about being open about our political leanings but I think that Meteria is right about calling on supporters of minor parties to be more up-front about that support. Word of mouth advertising is powerful.

I think there is a new openness developing in NZ and I think MMP has helped drive this new openness.

SO if you are prepared to vote strategically and to give UnitedFuture your PARTY VOTE ... then how about telling others.

Meteria finished her speech with an interesting thought ... she told the audience that if they weren't prepared to vote Green, then she urged them to give their party vote to another Minor party so that MMP remained strong.
