Peter Dunne switches off for Earth Hour – 2010-03-26 11:56:13.847

With a day to go, Ohariu MP and UnitedFuture leader Peter Dunne has publicly demonstrated his commitment to tomorrow’s global Earth Hour, the worldwidel ‘lights out’ event for action on climate change.

Mr Dunne is calling on all Ohariu residents and Kiwis in general to switch off lights and unnecessary appliances for Earth Hour, which takes place tomorrow night at 8.30pm New Zealand time, and simultaneously across the world.

To encourage others to take part, Mr Dunne was photographed in front of a giant light switch at Parliament Buildings this week.
“Earth Hour is a simple but inspiring gesture, and a real reminder to people to take action on climate change. Turning off lights for one hour is a symbolic act demonstrating how our small individual actions can add up to make a big difference,” he said.
