Dunne encouraged by Nats' policy theft

UnitedFuture leader Peter Dunne says he's encouraged to see National leader John Key claiming credit for UnitedFuture's successful policy of removing the cap on tax rebates for charitable donations in a recent speech to the Forest and Bird society.

"This is an excellent policy that will take effect from April and is just one of UnitedFuture's superbly thought-out and costed policies that we are happy to share with the National Party," he said.

"Given the National Party's current policy vacuum, we'd be happy to see them adopt our tax policy which would set personal tax rates at 10%, 20% and 30% and would align top personal, company and trust tax rates at 30%.

"This is a simple, affordable tax system that National should support.

"We have many other fine policies National is welcome to adopt, recognising that while they have the numbers in Parliament, UnitedFuture has the fresh ideas," said Mr Dunne. Read the full text of this article.

John might be the Key message for National when it comes to horsing about, stacking and trading shares in split seconds. Those skills worked well for him on the share market floors.
But Dunne doesn't peter out when it comes time for tax matters and taxation reforms. Put him anywhere near the Revenue portfolio as Minister, whether it's 1996 or 2008...taxes go Down baby..."down!"

That's not a matter of split second share sale timing. It's long hard deliberate, sound common sense from the N.Z. King of Common Sense. Long may he reign as he is supreme!

John , you & the Nats no where to go for these bits of advice now, that's if you/they want sound input like they say John looks for! Peters Done good hear John (& Helen - but I think she knows that!). So if you want to adopt a real growth economy basis rather than just a share market based economic structure, propel the economy forward John not by horse or share tradin' - but by adopting what Pete's Done - foster his taxation child, add your bobs & bits & Bob's our uncle mate!

Real change or Labour-lite? Isn't it ironic that, for all National's rhetoric, since the 1970s the big tax reductions came under the Roger Douglas Labour government in 1987 and in later years when United's Peter Dunne was Minister of Revenue - under both National (in the 1990s) and Labour (recently) . Actions speak louder than words. Let's get some real growth into the economy and help kiwi families. Bring on United Future tax cuts and income splitting! Imagine what he could do as Finance Minister or Deputy PM.
