Great news for Newlands

It was great to see that the Newlands Mall is receiving a well overdue upgrade. I can't wait to see it start.

It is really a win-win situation, to develop the New World supermarket (in itself a wonderful development) Foodstuffs purchased land worth $1.1m. This money will, in turn, be reinvested in the public amenities at the mall and give it a deserved make-over.

The residents of Newlands are justifiably proud of their suburb. I visit the shops in Newlands on a regular basis and am a big supporter of the community radio station - OneEyed FM (107.7).

This redevelopment coupled with the ability to do supermarket shopping locally, is a great step forward for Newlands.

Now, if only the Johnsonville Mall could get the same kind of boost.............
