Great Saturday of activity in Ohariu
14 September 2011
It always amazes me how much you can pack into a day, especially when you enjoy the community activities as much as I do. I had a great day on Saturday:
- Tawa electorate clinic
- "Spring into Tawa" market day. The UnitedFuture electorate committee had a prominent information stand and a balloon-animal artist for the kids. Received positive feedback for my '10-point plan for Ohariu'.
- My usual talk-back show on One-Eyed FM (107.7 FM) in Newlands
- Collected for the Stroke Foundation outside Khandallah New World. Great to chat with folks from my neighbourhood and plenty of donations went in the tin!
- Attended the Johnsonville Bowling Club's Opening Day, as Patron. Best of luck for the summer, Ladies and Gentlemen.
- Attended the North Wellington Football Club's Prizegiving. To my surprise and delight I was presented with a plaque recognising my 25th year as Patron. Congratulations to all the prize winners and the club on a great season.
- Was Guest of Honour at the Wellington Malayalee Associations Onam, 2011 at the Wellington Indian Cultural Centre.
- I rounded off the evening at the Fundraising Ball for the Khandallah Town Hall.
I really enjoy days like that. Good to see so many of you out and about and engaging in community activities. See you next weekend, if not sooner!!
