A long and some times difficult 2010 is drawing to a close, and it is time to reflect on things past and look forward to what 2011 may bring.
2010 will always be marked by the enormous natural tragedies that have befallen our country this year – the Canterbury earthquake and Pike River being the most obvious examples – and there will consequently be many people for whom the coming festive season will be more difficult to bear.
Christmas is a time for families to come together, to enjoy all that is good in their lives, and to look forward with hope for the future.
From my family to yours, our fervent hope is that you are able to enjoy the peace and goodwill of Christmas, and that 2011 will be a good year for you.
