Bernie Ogilvy has lived in Auckland for 40 years, currently in Onehunga where with wife Raye he has three children, Erin, Jason and Warwick as well as five grandchildren.
He has extensive experience in the education sector where he has worked as a Director of Worldview Studies and education lecturer at Masters Institute, a Private Teacher Training Institute in Mt Roskill. Previously also as a lecturer at Auckland University he worked as the J R McKenzie Scholar assessing economic values in New Zealand Education from preschool level through to the tertiary sector. He has been a tertiary teacher and lecturer in a range of subjects including, Economics, Psychology, and Christian Studies.
As part of United Future, he believes that good family policy can only be established with parental leadership. Ogilvy is committed to establishing strong, stable and contributing families, as he believes this will lead to more responsible government and a stronger nation: " You cannot throw a policy at the family and expect it will grow and develop the family," says Ogilvy.
"I want to see New Zealand become a great place for our children and grandchildren." Bernie is interested in a range of political initiatives, particularly those that involve education and the economy.

In his spare time Bernie enjoys playing golf, spending time with his grandchildren, walking and reading.
