Today’s announcement that the Wellington City Council and the New Zealand Transport Agency will begin work on the Johnsonville Triangle traffic improvements ends years of uncertainty for North Wellington residents says Ohariu MP and UnitedFuture Leader Peter Dunne said this morning.
“I have had countless conversations with the City Council about the long awaited and crucial improvements to these roads and footpaths; it is a relief to know that they will finally be going ahead.
“This brings a level of certainty to residents and business owners in the area and will be nothing but good for Johnsonville and the surrounding suburbs” said Mr Dunne today.
The project is expected to be kicked off with an information session at Johnsonville Community Centre on Tuesday 8 April, from 3–8pm. The overall timeframe is 2-3 years.
“Given today’s announcement I urge Development New Zealand to kick-start their plans to redevelop Johnsonville’s Mall. Northern suburbs residents deserve it after having waited so long” Mr Dunne said.
