Happy New Year! I hope 2016 lives up to all your expectations.

For UnitedFuture, the year promises to be a busy one, as we continue to refresh and renew. We have to refresh and renew party memberships, and our organisation as we prepare for the next election. And we have the new challenge of contesting local body positions in Auckland this year, so are looking to attract quality candidates, and a good team for the campaign.

At the policy and Parliamentary level, it will be another busy year, as we continue to promote and push our policy agenda with the Government. And we are off to a good start with this month’s announcement of new marine protected recreational fishing areas, consistent with our confidence and supply agreement, proving yet again that while others rail impotently from the sidelines about what should be happening, we just get on and do it.

In case you missed them, here is a link to a recent media story worth looking at:  www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/75464543/United-Future-leader-Peter-Dunne-is-Parliaments-quiet-maverick
