| DUNNE: MYLES COMMENTS MAY BREACH PRIVILEGE |
|
"The reported comments of Mr Gilbert Myles concerning the possibility that certain people were prepared to pay unnamed list MP's up to $100,000 to resign casts a potential pall over all MP's.
To impugn the integrity and reputation of Members in this way constitutes a threat to the sovereignty of the Parliament. I have therefore written to the Speaker of the House drawing his attention to this matter. I believe that a strong prima facie case of breach of privilege exists and have sought the Speaker's ruling on this matter." ENDS |
