BLOG: e-waste in your place

How many of you have a garage or a spare bedroom cluttered with old computer monitors and other electronic equipment? This e-waste is an environmental nightmare when it comes to disposing of it safely. With the turnover rate of computers T.V.s and mobile phones being so rapid these days we all need to be a bit more responsible about how we discard our outdated models.

I am interested in events like this one. It helps me to feel that me and my small household (and I mean small ....after all I live in auckland!) can contribute to the too-big topic of environmental damage.

I personally have a wardrobe full of e-waste! Recycling needs to be made easy for people - how about a couple of days a year where local authorities agree to pick up such items as part of their kerbside collections? Perhaps UF regions and/or our MPs could write to all local authorities with that suggestion?
