I have joined United Future and am going to the conference and be involved in the development of good strategic policy because of who the people are in United Future.
Peter Dunne, Judy Turner,Denise Krum and her sister Rochelle, and also Joe Burton (who I haven't met yet, but who always answers my emails and text messages quickly).
Good people who know the rules to respect others.
I don't see or smell Hubris in this camp.

nice one Quentin. Two points off yours: One is that those who get involved in UnitedFuture can actually be involved in development of good policy (compare us to other party's cumbersome and patronising process of listening to their members), and two, the definition of 'Hubris' is exaggerated pride that often results in retribution...perhaps a description of NZ First's pending future? :)

I can testify to what Denise is saying Quentin - I joined United Future to contribtue to policy where I can it is a thrill to be able to put forward ideas, debate them, have them taken seriously, have some of them become policy and, eventually, through the persuasive powers of our MPs some will become law.
At the end of the day we are all after working out what is best for NZers and it's great to have people like Quentin and others who've joined recently getting stuck in and contributing...

So many are turned off by politics because of the antics of politicians, and because they genuinely feel disenfranchised...if they had an idea, would anyone really listen? This feeling of disconnect needs to change, and change quickly, or we'll have a serious lack of genuine leadership steering our ship. Instead, it will be expedient-lead politics populated by ideology-driven autobots.
I love UnitedFuture's incredibly diverse and colourful make-up....our conference on June 6-8 will showcase just that!
