| Bunkle Decision The Only Right Option |

The decision to keep Philida Bunkle on the backbenches is the only right and proper decision says Hon Peter Dunne, leader United Future New Zealand.
“If she had been brought back into the fold as a Minister outside Cabinet then the Government would be effectively endorsing the confusion that exists.” “Had she been brought back into a ‘halfway house’ position as an Under-Secretary this would have been a Claytons decision, designed to buy off her loyalty.” “I commend the Government for at least having the courage to take the only logical and honourable decision. “The crucial issue now is to ensure rules of electoral registration are clarified to avoid a repeat of this whole unseemly and confusing situation.” ENDS |
