Whangarei - Maureen Gunston

Maureen is UnitedFuture candidate for Whangarei. She is currently involved in promoting ChildSafe amongst organisations working with children and young people, whilst continuing to work in a volunteer role with Scripture Union and the Citizens Advice Bureau.

Maureen’s background is in education; first as a mathematics teacher and then in training and equipping those working with children and families in the Christian sector. She and her husband brought up their family in Whangarei and, over that period of 17 years, she was involved in Girls’ Brigade leadership alongside other voluntary activities. She supports wholeheartedly UnitedFuture’s proven commitment to the family; believing that every child should be valued and every parent supported appropriately.
