John is UnitedFuture candidate for Ilam. He works as a scientist for the Christchurch Kidney Research Group of the University of Otago
For a decade he worked amongst international students and migrants, helping them settle into their studies and adjust to life in New Zealand and then, with his own business, training others to work across cultures and conducting some research into the needs of these people. At the end of that time I was even more convinced that the future of the $2bn international education industry is not merely about marketing strategies, but is focussed on people, on people, on people.
