Manukau East - Manogi Turua Head

Manogi is UnitedFuture's candidate for Manukau East. Manogi was born on Niue Island, and moved to Otara in Auckland in 1980, to give their children education opportunities. She and her husband Don have six children aged from 32 to 11, and seven grandchildren (so far).

Manogi helped establish the Clendon Residents Group and she has also been involved with the Manukau Beautification Charitable Trust, the Manurewa St Luke’s Church Community Committee, and the Weymouth Residential Youth Facility Liaison Committee.

Manogi is an elected representative for the Niuean community on the Pacific Islands Advisory Committee to Manukau City Council, and she has twice run for election to the Manurewa Community Board. She works for Counties Manukau Police as On-call Youth Support for young offenders.
