Tauranga - John Willocks

John is UnitedFuture's candidate for Tauranga. He has been the Tauranga Electorate Chairman for United Future since 2000. John's political party experience goes back to the 1960 election. During the 60's and early 70's John was progesssively a Branch Chairman, Electorate Chairman, Divisional Vice-Chairman, Dominion Councillor and Dominion Executive member for the Clutha Electorate for the National Party. My wife and I have lived in Tauranga since 1990. We have three adult children living and nine grandchildren.

John farmed in South Otago until 1979. He was involved in Dairy Company and Livestock Improvement directorships in the 70's and served locally in Federated Farmers, school committee, A.& P. Society, and church eldership. A move north saw John become involved in a series of voluntary administrative roles in missionary and community affairs both in NZ and overseas.

John is currently the Rosters Co-ordinator for the Tauranga South Community Patrols (Night Owls), and secretary to the United Seafarers Mission at the Port of Tauranga. All these activities have involved PEOPLE, PEOPLE, PEOPLE and their daily lives and aspirations.
