Keeping us honest in the Bay of Plenty, Judy travels from the small township of Ohope, near Whakatane, for Wellington and Parliamentary duties. There, she lives with husband Graham with whom she has three children; Ben, Lyndall and Joshua.
|

|
|
Educated in Hamilton, she has trained as a primary teacher and now has long experience in the profession, most recently as a specialist teacher at Whakatane Intermediate School. Prior to becoming an MP, Judy was also host of weekly radio programme on behalf of local churches, as well as serving on the Hospital Chaplaincy committee for Whakatane Hospital. It is such roles which have given her experience in family, relationship and grief counselling.

Her spokespersonships reflect her strengths on social issues. As an MP Judy will be working on such issues as promoting family values, and strengthening the resolve and skills of parents to do well by their children regardless of their circumstances; Supporting young people transitioning into adulthood; Raising the status of parents and families.

|
She is also focussed on developing policy on area such as Family, Children, Social services, Youth and Womans Issues.
